Privacy Policy

GlassMD collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no server to send anything to.

What GlassMD does not do

  • It does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
  • It does not contain analytics, tracking, or advertising code.
  • It does not use third-party SDKs that collect data.
  • It has no user accounts and no cloud service.

Your files

Documents you open stay on your Mac, in the location you keep them. GlassMD reads and writes them where they are; it does not copy them into a library of its own, and it never uploads them. The app runs in Apple’s App Sandbox and can only reach files you have opened or granted access to.

Your settings

Theme choices and window state are stored locally on your Mac, inside the app’s own sandbox container. They are not synced and not shared.

Network access

GlassMD makes no network requests of its own. Everything it needs to render a document — the Markdown parser, syntax highlighting, maths typesetting and diagrams — is bundled inside the app and runs offline.

The one time the network is involved is when you click a link in a document. GlassMD does not open web pages inside itself; it hands the address to your default browser, and what happens next is between you and that browser.

The app declares Apple’s network.client entitlement. This is required for macOS to launch the helper processes behind the rendering view, even when only local content is displayed, and is not used to contact any server.

Quick Look

The Quick Look extension renders previews in Finder using the same offline code, in its own sandbox. It sends nothing anywhere.

Children

Because GlassMD collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.

Changes

If a future version of GlassMD ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships.
